Nice local restaurant. Excellent food and a variety of craft brews. Locally sourced food as best I could tell and a warm setting that is not too cozy. Friendly staff and we were able to get a table without a reservation although one is recommended.

We love eating here, good portions, desant prices for the quality of food you get. This is a fine dining style of restaurant, which is best to make an appointment before you go. It's located on a nice quiet part of Manitoulin. We've been here twice this sumer and have yet to be be disappointed.

I had dinner here whilst on a family vacation to Manitoulin Island, and we were beyond impressed with this beautiful restaurant. The entrance is lined with gorgeous, vibrant flowers and the solarium section of the dining area is surrounded by lush greenery. As a party of fifteen, we had called for a reservation and had the pleasure of being served by co-owner John (who was friendly, warm and an absolute riot). The food was remarkably fresh, and the restaurant's "Farm to Table" orientation rang true throughout the menu. My Manitoulin Whitefish was seasoned nicely and came with a sweet peach chutney, hand-cut french fries, tender grilled zucchini, and a smooth cauliflower purée. All in all, I would recommend Garden's Gate Family Restaurant to anyone who enjoys beautiful scenery, pleasant service, and deliciously fresh food.

The Gardens Gate is lovely place that I would visit again if I came back to Manitoulin Island. The food (AAA Beef with mashed potatoes and vegetables / Fettuccini veggie )was so delicious. The homemade "Mad about Choclate Cheesecake" was incredible. The staff is very friendly. It is a must to step by when you are in the area. All thumbs up.
